Palm Springs Date Milkshake

This Palm Springs date milkshake is creamy, naturally sweet, and rich in flavor, and truly captures the essence of the desert. A few years ago, my family moved to Palm Springs, and every time we would drive down to the city, we would stop at Hadley Fruit Orchards, located near Cabazon. This recipe is pure nostalgia for me.

The recipe I created uses soft, caramel-like dates, which give the shake its natural sweetness as well as richness that feels indulgent while still simple and comforting. It’s the kind of classic treat that instantly cools you down on a warm desert day by the pool and reminds you why dates are such a signature flavor and why they are very famous in Palm Springs. When creating this recipe, I chose to add a little bit of cashew butter to add more creaminess to the shake. Another very important ingredient to add is oat milk instead of regular milk. It enhances the creaminess as well as the flavor. It is a healthier option to use if you are trying to cut out dairy.

The cinnamon adds a spice note to the shake, which intensifies the overall flavor.

Overall, I highly recommend making this shake for your friends and family. It is also a healthier option if you use non-dairy milk and a low sugar ice cream.
